2025.

What a year it has been. Our business community faced challenge after challenge in 2025, and if there is one thing we know to be true, it is that owning a small business or managing a large industry is never for the faint of heart.

This year brought new hurdles, whether navigating the impacts of local infrastructure improvements or adjusting to policy changes and economic shifts happening well beyond our city limits. Our communities also felt the weight of local elections, bringing change and heartbreak for some along the way. But as the dust settled, neighbors came together once more, choosing hope, respect, and a shared vision for the future of our community.

All of this came before what many businesses consider the true test of the year, the fourth quarter. It is a season filled with both hustle and hope, the push to finish strong and build momentum to carry through the quieter days of early January. Throughout it all, I have witnessed remarkable fortitude, flexibility, and determination. Businesses recalibrated, redirected, and persevered, and as always, I stand in awe of their resilience.

When our businesses, small and large, succeed, it is one of the clearest indicators of the health of our community as a whole. Their success benefits us all, and it is something we should collectively champion.

As the year draws to a close, the community feels a bit more peaceful. Christmas lights glow a little brighter, knowing they will soon be carefully packed away until next season. Storefronts have carried us through another year with welcoming smiles, thoughtfully decorated windows, and hopefully renewed optimism for what lies ahead.

On behalf of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce, we wish you a very Happy New Year. And as you look for ways to show support in the months ahead, please remember how much our local businesses appreciate those who make an effort to shop and dine locally during the slower winter season. Your support in January and beyond truly makes a difference.

Here is to a new year filled with opportunity, growth, and continued community strength.
