The SBDC at Jacksonville State University , part of the Alabama Small Business Development Center network, proudly joins SBDCs nationwide in celebrating SBDC Day, a national movement recognizing the powerful impact of America’s Small Business Development Centers on entrepreneurs and local communities.
SBDC Day is coordinated by America’s SBDC to spotlight the success stories, economic impact, and community contributions generated by small businesses supported through the SBDC network. SBDCs are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, along with state and local partners.
Throughout the past year, the SBDC at Jacksonville State University has helped small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs launch new ventures, create jobs, secure capital funding, and strengthen the local economy. By providing no-cost, confidential business advising and training programs, the center continues to empower individuals to turn ideas into successful enterprises.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy,” said Ken Grissom, Center Director of the SBDC at Jacksonville State University . “SBDC Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate the resilience, innovation, and determination of the entrepreneurs we are honored to serve every day.”
In the last year, the SBDC at Jax State helped create 33 new businesses, 107 new jobs, and $1.6 M in capital infusion and growth. These outcomes reflect the dedication of local business owners and the collaborative partnerships that support economic growth in the region.
