The Chamber is still looking for a few “good men”! Seriously, the Chamber Board of Directors is taking applications for the executive director’s position.
If you or know someone who would enjoy helping move Fort Payne forward, send a resume to email@example.com or drop one off at the Times-Journal office, 811 Greenhill Boulevard, NW, Fort Payne.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in administration.
A knowledge of the Fort Payne service and business community is a must. Writing skills are necessary to communicate ideas, create promotional literature, and communicate with elected officials and community leaders.
Event planning requires organizational skills.
You must be a resident of DeKalb County and preferably Fort Payne.
I was asked what did I enjoy most about being the executive director for the past 11 years. The job is different every day.
The people you meet are remarkable. I have worked with local, state, and national officials.
However, there is nothing more rewarding than counseling with a person who wishes to open a small business to fulfill his or her life’s dream.
Selling Fort Payne to large and small companies to encourage them to locate in our city is exciting. As I give them my “Chamber speech”, I realize time and again what a privilege it is to live in Fort Payne.
