Chamber Chatter


The Chamber has received several phone calls concerning application for the Executive Director’s position.


The Executive Board has appointed a search committee which will oversee the application process.


Resumes will be submitted to an email address, A hard copy can be submitted to the Times-Journal at 811 Greenhill Boulevard, NW, Fort Payne.


The deadline to submit a resume will be July 15th.  A key job qualification is the applicant must possess a four-year degree or 5 years’ experience in administration.


The summation of the position is to manage, administer, and enhance the goals and objectives of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce.


The mission statement of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce is to enhance the quality of life through an improved climate of business growth.


One of the main functions of the Executive Director is to create fund raising ideas which will supplement the funding of the Chamber.


Composition and communication skills will be a must. This weekly column is the responsibility of the Executive Director.


The Chamber has an annual contract with the City of Fort Payne to serve as the principal public relations and information agency for the City.


I personally think the most important qualification for the position is to have a true desire to make Fort Payne the best possible place to recruit and retain businesses.
