Addie Kate’s. What a great name for a unique gift shop.  The name alone would entice you to find out what is inside this charming downtown store.

Amy Johnson, owner, had a lifelong dream to own her own business. With her experience in catering and decorating various events, it became obvious what type of business she would open.

Customers enjoy Amy’s selection of one of a kind gifts. The selections range from snuggly baby items to the great jewelry choices.

My favorite is the personalized items. Amy made the leap last year and invested in an expensive piece of equipment that can print most anything on various items.

In fact, the Chamber choose an engraved wooden piece that included a clock for the banquet honorees’ award.

My favorite is the wood cutting board with signed personal family recipes. These treasures can be passed down to future generations.

Amy named her store after her niece. Family is the utmost important thing in Amy’s life following her Christian service.

I am a firm believer that something good comes out of something bad. Having worked in the hosiery industry for many years, her employment ended with the instability of the sock industry.

It is never too late to fulfill your dream. It took 20 years of experience working with the public to convince Amy to started planning the second phase of her life.  She opened Addie Kate’s in 2014.

Amy’s daily schedule is a hectic one. She serves as the treasurer of her church as well as for Fort Payne Main Street.  She is one of the driving forces to insure the success of the program.  Her creative talents are an asset to planning the events for Main Street.

Visit Amy at Addie Kate’s, 220 Gault Avenue, North, to let her take you on a tour of her store. I promise you will be pleasantly surprised with the gift selections.
